Karen Smillie, nee Tenore, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on November 27, 2006. She was 48.
Karen was born on February 26, 1958 in New Rochelle, to August and Marie (DeMelia) Tenore. She attended local schools and graduated from Berkley Business College. She worked for many years at Getter Associates before retiring to raise her family. She most recently worked at the office of Dr. Richard Pisano. She was a communicant of Sts. John and Paul Church. In addition to her parents Marie and August, she is survived by her husband Robert Smillie whom she married on June 4 1983; a son Bobby Smillie; two brothers Kenneth Tenore and Stephen P. Tenore, all of New Rochelle.
Fred was born on July 24, 1941 in Yonkers to Margaret (DelVecchio) and the late Anthony DiCarlo. Fred graduated Eastchester High School in 1959 and McAllister Embalming School in NYC. He entered the funeral industry where he worked for over 43 years. He was currently the President of Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. in New Rochelle. He started working there 37 years ago. Fred was very active with Eastchester little league and the Eastchester Blue Devils”.
In addition to his mother, who lives in Eastchester, he is survived by three sons Anthony and his wife Rosemarie of Mahopac, Thomas and his wife Diana of Tuckahoe and Fred R. DiCarlo Jr. and his wife Margaret of Pleasantville; 7 grandchildren Anthony, Daniel, Mark, Thomas, Gregory, Dana and AnnMarie; a brother Francis L. DiCarlo. He is also survived by his companion Marcella Martyniak; his ex wife Annette DiCarlo and business partner Stephen Tenore.
