Pietro Sammarco, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on April 16, 2014. He was 93.

Pietro was born on January 12, 1921 in Italy to the late Salvatore and Christine (Leo) Sammarco.  He worked for many years as an operating engineer in the construction industry. He was WWII Army Veteran who saw action during the Battle of The Rhineland. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8.

He was predeceased by his wife the former Elvira Gallo whom he married on December 14, 1947. She died on November 18, 2005.

 

He is survived by a daughter, Christine Amori of New Rochelle; four sons, Charles of New Rochelle, Peter of Florida, Ralph of Connecticut, and Michael of Yorktown; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Rita Carpanzano and a brother Frank Sammarco

 

Visiting will be Saturday 3-7pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association.


Peter Maney, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on April 18, 2014. He was 79.

Peter was born on April 24, 1934 in Bridgeport, CT. to the late Raymond W. and Mary A. (Clarke) Maney. He worked in retail sales for many years. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post 8 where he served on their Executive Board. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Monica Bond who died four years ago. He is survived by his extended family, the Bond family, and many friends.

Visiting will be Thursday 5-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be private.


 

 

 

 

Mary- Diane Marco, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on April 19, 2014. She was 67.

 

Mary-Diane was born on March 21, 1947 in Pittston, PA, to the late Domenick and Mary (Pszeniczy) Lombardi. She worked as a Radiologist for New Rochelle Radiology for 16 years. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent who died in 2000. She is survived by her two children Vincent Marco (Lauren) and Adrienne Marco-DiDonato (Peter); her three grandchildren Addison DiDonato, Vincent and Tyler Marco; her brother Nuncio Lombardi and her sister Theresa Caprari; her niece Donna Molinaro and her nephew Domenick Lombardi and her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Paul and her sister Joan and her nephew Gerard.

 

Visiting will be 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday 10:30 at Holy Family Church. Interment will take place in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gilda’s Place.
